Golden View Lifestyle Village Cromwell

May Plumbing and Gas were successful tenderers on the new Lifestyle Village in Cromwell started in July 2016 by Auckland company HPA services, for the local owners. The village consists of 100 homes and units and a communal facilities building.

May Plumbing carried out all of the plumbing and drainage works to the new homes, with many opting for water treatment systems and gas fires for heating also.

We could see early on the potential for efficiency improvements which would make the jobs flow better for all involved and devised an innovative new way to install the plumbing which is now our common practice and greatly reduces onsite time so the other contractors can crack on.

We saw this as a great opportunity to train as well, and we have two apprentices who got a great deal of experience working on this job site.

The residents starting moving into the houses as they were completed, so this has been a ‘living work site’ where we would all interact every day. It was really great for them to see how their houses were built from the first sod turned to the completed product.

Having been in business in Cromwell for 25 years, a good portion of the new residents were folks we already knew and often past customers of ours.

The completion date for the entire village is around the end 2021, so we have made quite a few new friends having been on the site working for five years.
