Clyde Holiday Park

We have upgraded the Clyde Holiday Park or camping ground ablution blocks from diesel to gas hot water systems and installed electronic timed shower systems. This was a design and build project.

Bannockburn Domain Camping Ground

May Plumbing & Gas completed the plumbing, drainage and gas works on the new Bannockburn Domain Camping Ground ablution block with shower blocks and community kitchens using gas hot water systems. This was a design and build project.

Wanaka Lakeview Holiday Park

We worked under a collaborative arrangement with the owners of the Wanaka Lakeview Holiday Park for a brand-new eco-friendly ablution block, communal kitchens, and commercial laundry to service up to 1000 campers per day in the high season. 

The owners are passionate about working towards Carbon Zero and reducing their environmental impact. We developed an innovative bespoke system of solar hot water. Built fit-for-purpose, this solar hot water solution has been a resounding success, saving large amounts of energy in the hot water production. 

The system is innovative, bespoke and large - There are 500 Apricus Evacuated tube solar collectors on the roof, it is totally frost tolerant and it is also stagnation tolerant, which means it is not at risk of overheating, so is very powerful but can also cope with low demand as required.

We also integrated the central heating system to the solar hot water system to make use of any available excess solar energy during the cooler months and low occupancy periods.

The system has full online monitoring of all water flows, gas usage, solar gain and ambient conditions so very detailed reporting & analysis is available.

This very large project was all designed and built by May Plumbing & Gas with plumbing systems, drainage networks, waste treatment system, solar hot water system, central heating system, high demand gas hot water production, gas systems for cooking, laundry and hot water with safety cut-outs for earthquakes and gas leaks.
